Ahead of marking his six-year milestone at the helm, Mikel Arteta has admitted that his longevity in North London is fundamentally dependent to delivering trophies.

A Look Back: The Arteta Era

The former Arsenal captain took over on December 20th, 2019 and promptly led the team to an FA Cup victory a short time later. However, that early success remains his lone major honor after taking over from Unai Emery.

“Yes,” Arteta responded in response to a query about staying beyond 2027. “Yet it's about today. And numerous factors have to happen in the coming months as well to deserve that opportunity.”

The Current Landscape

Arsenal approaches the Everton match coping with a fresh setback. Defender Ben White has been declared unavailable with a hamstring injury that is anticipated to keep him out for the coming weeks.

Evolved Priorities

Even with the injury crisis and the high-stakes environment, Arteta believes the club's “focus and dialogue” are profoundly distinct from when he first arrived.

He pointed to the team's performances as evidence of progress. “Examine the performances, all the records that we... were breaking... We still haven’t managed to do that [win trophies]. But that indicates the standard we operate at.”

In closing, the manager stated, “It represents a quality that the Premier League has not seen before in the past. And our ambition is to achieve even higher goals. And if we do that, I think we are on the correct trajectory to winning.”
