Major Russian Assaults Disrupt Power Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in electricity outages in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while local people in the city's east were plunged into darkness and encountered disruption to drinking water, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a young boy was killed in a separate assault in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, based on information from area administrators.

Russian forces has increased assaults on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while the country's government has called for "concrete actions" from allies to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the America, Europe and the Group of Seven - in delivering air defence systems and implementing penalties," he wrote in a social media post.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty rockets struck energy facilities, describing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were laboring to repair systems.

A wave of strikes hit energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the urban area endured intense attacks throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child lost their life and three other people were hurt.

The assaults come after evenings of air raids in the region, sections of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

The entire country is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to spot.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to destroy the national power system, with strikes already impacting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and officials were preparing for more assaults.
