On Wednesday, 2K president a key figure updated staff about this organizational change through an internal memo, which stressed that early feedback sessions had revealed the requirement for a distinct direction.

Below is the entire message from Ismailer's memo:

Hello Everyone—

I know you all just finished your meeting - I hope you’re as enthusiastic as I am with the positive developments. Last time I shared you all a update, I stated the following: “I believe in this group. You all are some of the most driven and creative developers we have had the pleasure to collaborate with - and we’re excited for that partnership to continue.”

Given your hard work and versatility, especially over the past twelve months, you continue to prove that.

The gamer responses from last fall’s the game demo was enlightening. It validated the promise of a action-packed game but told us we still had refinements needed. It uncovered the necessity for a more distinct brand.

It’s been inspiring to see how far you’ve progressed. You took the criticism to mind and revamped the title with a revitalized goal - one that’s positioned to achieve its ambition to our players.

Our confidence in Project ETHOS grows every day. To further the incredible development you’ve made, I am thrilled to announce Ben Brinkman as the latest Studio Head of 31st Union. Following some time of talks, Ben starts with us on Monday, October 20.

His guidance and background in the PVP shooter genre is vast, having spent the recent years creating and leading some of the most popular series in gaming, for example Call of Duty: Black Ops, and most recently, the battle royale hit.

Please join me in receiving him next week. We are all looking forward to continue seeing the evolution of the game in the weeks to ahead.

The President
